Komatsu Completes the Construction of New Plant of Komatsu Manufacturing Rus, LLC

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

Russia- Komatsu Ltd. has completed the construction of a new assembly plant of Komatsu Manufacturing Rus, LLC (”KMR”). This is Komatsu’s first assembly plant in Russia for construction and mining equipment.

Equipped with an integrated production line from welding to assembly, the new plant will produce PC200, 220, 300 and 400 hydraulic excavators.

KMR will start with the production of PC400 models and plans to expand the hydraulic excavator model range as it monitors the market conditions. Future plans of KMR also include the production of utility equipment including forklift trucks, large construction equipment, mining equipment and pipelayers.

While the Russian market demand for construction equipment is declining at present against the backdrop of a sluggish economy, we are anticipating growth in demand resulting from the development of rich natural resources and its infrastructure in the mid- to long-range outlook.

When the new plant starts local production of the models which we have previously exported from Japan and China, we believe that we will be better positioned to not only reduce both transportation costs and inventories but also further improve our product support capability for local customers, thereby enhancing customers’ confidence with Komatsu-brand equipment.

MHI to Collaborate with IBERDROLA Ingenieria Y Construccion of Spain

Friday, June 4th, 2010

Tokyo- Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (MHI) has agreed with IBERDROLA Ingenieria y Construccion, S.A.U. (IBERDROLA Engineering & Construction), a Spanish engineering company, to collaborate for the bidding of constructing potential nuclear power generation plants (NPP) in some European countries. The two companies have already signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to cooperate on an exclusive basis for the qualification process to a European utility. Through this collaborative initiative MHI aims to accelerate market penetration of its EU-APWR, one of the world’s largest - 1,700 MWe (megawatts of electricity) class - advanced pressurized water reactors (APWR) targeted at major European utilities. The agreement marks MHI’s first collaborative partnership with a European company relating to the EU-APWR.

Based on the MOU, MHI will be responsible for overall engineering of the NPP and major NPP components and equipment while IBERDROLA Ingenieria will take charge of installation work and design, procurement and commissioning of nuclear island.

IBERDROLA Ingenieria, founded in 1995, is a subsidiary company of IBERDROLA, one of the world’s major energy groups; it serves as the hub of the Group’s engineering and construction business. IBERDROLA Ingeniería operates globally and ranks second worldwide in the area of engineering activities for the electric utility industry, handling EPC (engineering, procurement and installation) work for power generation plants of all types, including thermal, hydropower, nuclear power, wind and photovoltaic. In the area of nuclear power generation, the company already boasts a substantial track record in work relating to steam generator replacement and turbine generator replacement.

MHI developed the EU-APWR based on the 1,538 MW APWR planned for the Tsuruga Power Station Units 3 and 4 for the Japan Atomic Power Company. Design changes were made to reflect European regulations and the demand of EU customers for enhanced operating performance. Like the similarly sized US-APWR, MHI’s APWR for the US market, improvements for greater economic efficiency were incorporated, including larger components and greater power generation capacity; an automatic safety system and design improvements also enable the world’s highest level of thermal efficiency. Currently MHI is conducting a feasibility study of the EU-APWR for compliance with European safety requirements.

In Europe there is a trend to increase generating capacity by either newly introducing or resuming nuclear power generation. If this trend continues, several dozen new NPPs may be built in Europe by 2030. In response, going forward MHI will continue to promote introduction of its EU-APWR into the European market vigorously.

The New High-speed, High-precision Hybrid Off-line AOI System Yamaha YSi-S

Friday, June 4th, 2010

Japan- Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. has succeeded in the development of a new automated optical inspection (AOI) system for off-line use that employs a combination of visible light, infra-red and laser inspection functions to achieve increased defect detection accuracy and speed. Named “YSi-S,” this new product will be released in the autumn of 2010.
Despite being an off-line system, YSi-S features a high-rigidity frame and designs for the lighting units, high-resolution imaging system and rotary geared laser unit that are the same as those on Yamaha Motor’s high-end in-line type YSi-12 system to achieve unprecedented levels of accuracy, speed and reliability for an off-line type inspection system.
Furthermore, this model adopts Yamaha Motor’s “3S” (Sitting and Standing posture Support Layout) to better accommodate both standing and sitting operation, and the user interface is integrated with that of the surface mounter for improved operability.
The new YSi-S model will be displayed at the 12th Jisso Process Technology Exhibition, the electronics manufacturing and surface-mount technology trade show at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition facility (Ariake, Koto-ku, Tokyo).

Product Features

  1. The latest lighting system (3-section dome illumination, RGB full color for the high/mid/low sections & infra-red for the high section) is adopted. The 3-section dome illumination system is designed to minimize shadows cast by taller electronic components to enable more exact imaging of the inspection objects.
  2. High-definition 5 megapixel CCD camera with telecentric lens to achieve the highest level of inspection speed in class. Because it adopts the same optical system as Yamaha Motor’s in-line type YSi-12 AOI system, it is possible to use the same inspection program interchangeably.
  3. A choice of three optical resolution levels is offered (before factory shipment) for selection based on the size of objects, such as general circuit boards, device components, etc., to be inspected.
  4. The rotary-geared laser unit ensures accurate measurement of component heights without blind spots, not only for the flat surfaces but diagonal portions as well.
  5. A “3S” (Sitting and Standing Posture Support Layout) is adopted to optimize ease and comfort of use for both standing and sitting operation by making the keyboard, mouse and display, etc., height adjustable to several levels.
  6. Applicable for large PCBs (L510mm × W460mm) with improved space efficiency and operability. As an option, L650mm PCB application is also available.
  7. The user interface proven on Yamaha Motor surface-mount systems is adopted. Its integration with the other equipment of the surface-mount production line means better usability and functionality.
  8. Large display and easily differentiated 9-color gradation display makes possible more intuitive operation.

What is the importance of bill of sale for buying a car ?

Friday, June 4th, 2010

Why you need A Vehicle Bill of Sale:

A vehicle bill of sale is a written agreement by which a used auto owner assigns or transfers their rights or interest in the vehicle to the buyer. For used auto sales, having this form will be of great help in the selling process.

A vehicle bill of sale may serve as one of the necessary documents that establishes a buyer’s proof of ownership when trying to obtain auto insurance or prove ownership.

If any problem arises later, the document will help the seller or the buyer to prove their case. In addition, the bill of sale serves as proof the buyer really bought the Car and owns it. And last but not least, the document is what you need for accounting and taxation purposes.

To prevent frauds, the used vehicle is usually not registered without an auto bill of sale form, furnishing correct and verified information and completed in all respects. In case, the seller refuses to record the sale in auto bill of sale form, do not make any deal with him or try to convince him for the same.

Even if the state in which you live does not require an auto bill of sale form to register the purchase of a used vehicle, creating one is good for you. You should also insist the seller to create one so that both the parties are aware of exactly what legal terms they are agreeing to. One can also hire a lawyer to provide legal advice regarding the same. In short, an auto bill of sale form makes buying and selling of used cars more comfortable, reliable, and professional, and should be considered.

The Information usually included in Vehicle Bill Sale

1. Year, Make and Model of the vehicle.
2. Description of vehicle.
3. Buyer and Seller’s names and signatures.
4. Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
5. Purchase price of the vehicle.
6. Odometer reading, etc.

The buyer retains the original copy of the used auto bill of sale, and provides it to the DMV with the other acceptable proofs of ownership required when purchasing a tag.

Additionally, the vehicle bill of sale may be notarized. The Buyer and Seller can make copies of the bill of sale, for record keeping purposes. A bill of sale of a motor vehicle, is not only sufficient proof of auto ownership. So, the vehicle purchaser may need other forms of proof of ownership, such as the vehicle Title.

Where does one find a vehicle bill of sale template or form?

In many cases you may be able to download a car bill of sale that’s printable from the government driver and vehicles services website where you live. This is a nice way to do it because you know that you’re getting the official word and form right from the people who will handle the transfer of your vehicle title. In any case, the net is full of sites with vehicle bill of sale forms, bill of sale templates and bill of sale samples - free or with charge. All you have to do is Google the term your looking for - whether it be a free downloadable template or a sample bill of sale form.

Get to know about terms used in Japanese used car shipment.

Friday, June 4th, 2010

If you are going to buy your dream used car from Japan, you must know the shipment terms before going to final the deal and make payment. You must ask Performa invoice before placing any order or sending payment to know each and every thing about terms and condition of payment and shipment etc. I am explaining you terms which are you using for shipment of used car export from Japan.

FOB (Free On Board)

F.O.B means ‘Freight on Board’ or ‘Free on Board’ with similar but distinct implications. it’s the all up cost of the used vehicle to the point where it is put on board ship in Japan. FOB Included, vehicle purchase cost or price, auction fee, transport & handling upto port of origine within Japan, de-registration and document processing fees and the export agents fee.

FOB specifies which party (buyer or seller) pays for which shipment and loading costs, and/or where responsibility for the goods is transferred. The last distinction is important for determining liability for goods lost or damaged in transit from the seller to the buyer.

CFR or C&F (Cost and Freight)

CFR or C&F stands for cost and freight and it is a pricing term in which the exporter/supplier pays for cost and freight. In another word, the cost of freight is also included in the stated vehicle FOB price of the used vehicle. The CFR term requires the seller to clear the used car for export to buyer.

This pricing term indicates that the cost of the goods, including all transportation/freight insurance costs from the exporter’s yard to the port of departure, as well as the costs of loading the vessel in the quoted price.

A Term of Sale where the seller pays the costs and freight necessary to bring the the used car to the named port of destination, Terms of Sale but the risk of loss of or damage to the goods, as (continued) well as any additional costs due to events occurring after the time the goods have been delivered on board the vessel, is transferred from the exporter to the buyer when the used vehicle to the port of shipment.

On Japanese Car Trade portal you can calculate freight cost of any vehicle and also you can find of freight rates for any port of the world.

CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) :

“CIF Price Includes the FOB (Vehicle Price) + Shipping freight + Marine Insurance Cost”. A trade term requiring the exporter to arrange for the carriage of used vehicle by sea to a port of destination. A Term of Sale where the exporter has the same obligations as under the CFR but also has to procure marine insurance against the buyer’s risk of loss or damage to the vehicle during the carriage. Usually marine insurance cost is 1% of total of cost of vehicle and freight cost.

Marin Insurance :

Marine Insurance covers the loss or damage of ships, cargo, terminals, and any transport or cargo by which property is transferred, acquired, or held between the points of origin and final destination.

Komatsu Castex Builds New Iron Casting Plant

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

Japan- Komatsu Castex Ltd. (President: Yasuki Sato, hereinafter KCX headquartered in Himi, Toyama Prefecture, Japan), a wholly owned subsidiary of Komatsu Ltd. (President & CEO: Kunio Noji), manufactures and sells cast parts for construction and mining equipment. KCX has recently built, on its head office plant site, a new iron casting plant to produce iron casting parts for engines.

Iron casting parts for engines have been produced by the KCX’ Oyama Division on Komatsu’s Oyama Plant site (Oyama City, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan). This will change between June and September this year, as KCX is going to transfer the entire operation to its head office plant to concentrate its production of engine parts there.

Market demand for construction and mining equipment drastically dropped around the world with the onset of the so-called Lehman Shock in the fall of 2008. However, present demand in emerging
markets, such as China, Asia and Latin America, has upturned for recovery. We anticipate that demand in other regions of the world will be driven by the economic growth of these emerging countries.

Against this backdrop of demand growth, KCX is expecting that demand for iron castings, which are materials for a variety of parts, will also increase. It has thus built the new iron casting plant at the head office plant, consolidating the production of super-precision required iron castings, centering on cylinder blocks for large and medium-sized engines as well as transmission cases. As a result, KCX will work to ensure a stable supply of high-quality components together with hydraulic valves for construction equipment.

The new plant is equipped with the monthly production capacity of some 2,300 tons. While maintaining its competitive edge of products on the international market into the future, KCX is going to supply iron castings to Komatsu Group’s plants in Japan by emphasizing excellent QCD (quality, cost and delivery).
